Overview
Located in Kensington, California, Kensington Nursery School is a
parent cooperative preschool that also also offers an after-school
program for kindergarteners. The morning preschool program provides
parents an opportunity to participate in class room activities, if they
choose to do so.
Pre-school classes include children ranging from ages of 2 years and 9
months through five years old. The kindergarten afterschool program
runs from the first day of kindergarten through the end of June for a given
academic year. Children are not required to be toilet trained prior to
starting preschool. KNS is nonsectarian, and accepts children of all
races, religions, cultural origins and family lifestyles. The preschool is
licensed for 38 children.
The preschool is administered by an elected Board of Directors. The
Board hires directors and teachers to set up and supervise the program
and to be in charge of the daily operation of the school.
